GENERAL SESSION INFO
Most sessions take place outdoors at a selected location from the Meg Sheppard Photography location guide. Additional locations can be requested but are not gauranteed. Outdoor sessions take place at golden hour (1-2 hours after sunrise or 1-2 hours before sunset) in order to achieve glowy, soft, natural photo perfection. If you are worried about keeping your kids up after bedtime, aim for a Spring or Fall photoshoot when sunset is earlier in the day! Outdoor sessions are weather dependent and will be rescheduled as needed.
Indoor sessions (including newborn) will take place at your home. Timing of the session will vary in order to maximize the natural light of your unique home. There will be a travel fee for locations over 20 miles from Rochester, Michigan.
All sessions include access to the MSP session guide, location guide, and styling guide to ensure you have a relaxed session where you can focus on making memories rather than worrying about details.
All sessions include an online gallery of edited digital images with the ability to download high-resolution images best for printing and web size images best for sharing on social media platforms. Galleries will typically be available within 3-4 weeks from the session date. During busy seasons, galleries may take up to 6 weeks to be delivered.
At the time of booking there is a non-refundable $75.00 retainer due to reserve your desired date. The remaining balance will be due at the time of your session.
FAQ
What is your photography style?
Relaxed, natural, and timeless. I utilize natural light and maintain true to color tones so that your favorite photos can withstand the test of time and outlast any current trend. I prefer shooting outdoors in naturally beautiful locations and adore capturing the "in between" moments when life is really happening (but don't worry... we will get those perfect smiling at the camera shots too)!
During your session, I will kindly provide you with direction and feedback, fix your stray hairs, and reassure you that you (and the kids) are doing great. I personally hate being rushed so I will take my time to make sure we get the shots and have fun doing it!
Where do photo sessions take place?
I am based in Metro Detroit and have a collection of favorite outdoor locations throughout the area. Upon booking, you will receive my location guide with examples of some of my favorites. I am also open to location suggestions if you have a favorite and/or sentimental location in mind, although locations outside of my guide are not guaranteed. Travel fees will apply for locations over 20 miles from my home.
Newborn sessions typically take place in the comfort of your home, although outdoor newborn sessions are possible if desired.
How and when will we get our photos?
You will receive an online gallery link with all of your photos within 3-4 weeks. During busy seasons, galleries may take up to 6 weeks to be delivered. Once you receive the link, you will be able to immediately download high-resolution images (for making prints) and web sized images (for sharing on social media).
How many pictures will we receive?
Portrait sessions include 35+ images. Newborn and senior sessions include 50+ images and mini sessions include 10+ images. I am a chronic "over shooter" and cannot in good faith leave a beautiful image untouched so I often end up delivering more than promised!
What is your cancellation / reschedule policy?
I get it. Life happens. In the event that you need to reschedule a photo session, please make every attempt to do so with at least 24 hours notice.
A non-refundable retainer of $75.00 is required at booking to reserve your date. If the session needs to be rescheduled, the retainer will be applied to the reschedule date. If you cancel your session completely with Meg Sheppard Photography, you will lose your $75.00 retainer.
Outdoor sessions are weather dependent and will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather at the discretion of Meg Sheppard Photography.
